Methanol Recovery
Removal of methanol from biodiesel is an essential part of the downstream process.
The methanol is removed and recovered after glycerine has been separated from the biodiesel.
Methanol is recovered from the biodiesel phase in a dedicated system with an inert dry nitrogen environment in the Biodiesel Methanol Recovery Unit or MRU.
Similarly methanol can be collected from the glycerine phase with the optional Glycerine MRU.
When used together and correctly, the EuroFuelTech Methanol Recovery systems are designed to ensure that ASTM and EN14214 residual Methanol levels can be achieved.
These systems are designed to be durable, easy to operate and safe. Nearly all components are manufactured from stainless steel and the systems use ATEX rated pumps and appropriately rated electrical components.
